Standing up an AI governance baseline for a federal civilian agency
- Challenge
- A federal civilian program office was fielding AI pilot requests from multiple vendors with no shared standard for oversight, data handling, or decision accountability. Approvals stalled because no one could say what "responsible" actually required.
- Approach
- As an SDVOSB partner we authored a written governance baseline — decision rights, data-handling rules, and review gates — mapped it to the agency's existing authorization process, and gave the program office a repeatable intake path every vendor pilot had to clear.
- Result
- The agency moved from ad-hoc, stalled approvals to a documented governance standard its other vendors now have to meet. Pilots that fit the standard move faster; pilots that don't get caught before they create risk.

- 0Ungoverned pilots reaching production
CenterMarq came in as a partner, not a contractor. The governance and oversight they put in place became the standard our other vendors had to meet.
